During the beginning of the spring semester during my Junior year at Baylor, I flew up to MIT to participate in an Augmented Reality Hackathon. At this hackathon, we formed teams with other students and were given an augmented reality headset and 48 hours to develop an augmented reality game, application, or piece of software. My team decided to create a game for physical therapy patients that would reward them for doing their exercises correctly. We did this by attaching electrodes to the payer's muscles and reading the muscles' voltage levels. I was designated as CAD lead for this project due to my experience with 3D modeling, but due to our project being a videogame, I could use SOLIDWORKS for the entire project. I had 48 hours to learn and create 3D models and animations in a game engine called Unity. I did this by prioritizing watching tutorial videos during the first few hours to make sure I had an idea of the fundamentals before jumping into the software. After this, I created a schedule of what I needed to complete and how long based on our remaining time. I am someone who thrives on challenges and this was a very rewarding project.
