We need to determine the molarity this HCL solution.
37% HCl means 37 ml of solute present in 100 ml of solution.
Therefore in 1000 mL solution the volume of HCl present = (37 times 1000)/100 = 370 mL
Now mass of 370 mL HCl = volume times density = 370 times 1.19 g/cm3 = 440.3 g
So in 1000 mL HCl solution, the mass of HCl present = 440.3 g
Now 440.3 g HCl = 440.3 g / 36.5 g / mol = 12.06 mol
Therefore 1000 mL HCl solution contains 12.06 mol of HCl
Therefore molarity of the the HCl solution = 12.06 M
Now for monoprotic acid HCl, the equivalenece factor is 1, therefore normality is equal to molarity.
Therefore normality of the stock 37% HCl solution = 12.06 N.
