As said throughout the presentation we don't agree with the death penalty as a punishment. It is unfair and inhumane, the death penalty is a punishment that is seemingly wrong morally. Not only is morally wrong It is against the constitution and the civil liberties that is supposed to be given to every person mainly the right to life which the government be it federal or state can take away with this penalty. We have talked about the unfair treatment some minorities get and have gotten in the past, for example in the past it was made a law that rape offenses could not be punishable by death because it was "unconstitutional unless the victim was killed, however in the past African Americans had been given the death sentence for raping a white citizen, even if they had or hadn't killed the victim. Even if it was an allegation the court would not favor them. We have talked about the wrongful convictions and how 1 in 25 people that are put on the death penalty have been exonerated. As of now California and many other states still have the death penalty, and California has an astounding 737 death row inmates currently awaiting to finish their trials or to be put to death. The death penalty is something tragic there is no pleasant way of killing someone there has and will be botched executions, Euthanasia is said to be a painless execution but their have been stories of executions that have gone wrong where the victim is struggling and gasping for air only to later die after hours of waiting. With that we believe that our solution would and could help those who have been put on the death penalty be fairly judged and given a fair sentence.
