She turned her head to look over at [friend name] as her friend peacefully slept. [Name] observed the stray pieces of [hair color] that stuck out of her messy bun and how the silky [color] blanket covered half of her face, the top half being the only visible part. She sighed and tried blocking out the soft noises of shuffling around and intake of breaths from around the room. [Name] looked back up at the ceiling and returned to her thoughts.
*Why didn't he want me?* she asked in her mind with eyes watering at the thought. *What did I do wrong?* A single tear fell from her left eye as she turned to her side, practically hugging the wrinkled pillow as a means of comfort. She wiped the salty tear away as it slid down her delicate cheek, lost in her own thoughts. Her eyes fell as drowsiness consumed her.
One thing she could never bring herself to admit was that she was in love with the boy. No matter how many times she tried to convince herself she wasn't.
She was ready to give it all for him. She was ready to do anything for him - but he didn't feel the same way. He never did even when [friend name] said she was sure he felt the same by the way he acted. But it was a painful lie.
It sounds pathetic, because it is, but she couldn't help it. Especially since when she confessed her feelings for the second time, he allowed Pansy Parkinson to insult her endlessly. He never tried to stop her as her words stabbed [name] in the gut over and over again. Her back turned from the pair as tears dared to fall and stain her cheeks. After taking all that she could, she stormed out of the Common Room, which was thankfully near-empty, and ran out. She didn't know where she was heading, but all she knew was that she had to get out of that dreadful room.
When it felt like she was far enough, she broke down crying. She wrapped her arms around her body and dipped her head down, tears falling like they'd never stop. Constantly wiping made no difference as they fell. She felt so betrayed and so *stupid*. How foolish she had been to fall for a guy - Malfoy of all people - and at such a young age. She had so much going in her life, but it was all thrown away for a boy. She grew distant with her close friends and hung out with Malfoy's gang instead plus a decent amount of others who hung around the group. She was so stupid to have fallen for a boy who not only didn't reciprocate her feelings but was feared and hated among the majority of Hogwarts.
It was at this moment when she made a promise to herself. She would never fall for someone ever again and she would never return to the Malfoy boy. The pain was unbearable and she didn't want to feel this emotion again - not now and not ever. *It's just a game to him,* she told herself. *He's not worth my time.*
So, she wiped her tears and slowly walked to the nearest bathroom. She washed her face and cleaned herself up. Her eyes were slightly red and swollen from all her crying, but somewhat weren't noticeable. She carefully and skillfully proceeded to return to her Common Room, seeing as it was after curfew and she didn't want to be caught. Once she made it back, she was glad to see that no one occupied the room and made her way to her dormitory, her roommates fast asleep.
She laid down and repeatedly the promise she made to herself in her head, hoping that'd get the message to sink in. She wasn't going to let Draco Malfoy - or anyone - get to her again.
