The article covers how VE day was celebrated this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

One person said "Obviously we all hate the lockdown but it's quite breathtaking how people have embraced this." it suggests bias since VE day is a really important day in history and involving the hate of the lockdown is unfair since millions of people died in the war and they come across as rude. It implies how they could be using the day as an excuse for something creative to do.
An example of prejudice is 'After the national two-minute silence, 42 of the streets' residents will begin a socially-distanced marathon relay event - taking it in turns to run one kilometre along the street to raise money for a local cancer trust.' because it reflects the Coronavirus pandemic more than VE day. It implies that it could be more important than the VE day celebrations and it doesn't connect at all to the article itself and doesn't fit in.
It could influence the reader by saying and describing what people are doing/feeling so they could be encouraged to do something to celebrate.

'The government is encouraging people to watch the events on the BBC and to hold 1940s-style afternoon tea parties within their households.' is being implied because the government aren't forcing people to have an afternoon tea party but they are encouraging. Again, included in the sentence is a Coronavirus relation about staying within the household.
'The coronavirus outbreak means people are commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day within their own homes.' is being implied because some people may not celebrate/commemorate VE day. Some people may not believe in it or may not be happy about the day. Due to the pandemic more people may not celebrate too.

"I think it's going to be a really fun day." is being inferred because what happens if something bad happens or the day doesn't go as planned. The person hopes/thinks it's going to be a really fun and exciting day but she's reading between the lines since no one can predict the future.
'They are hoping to finish the challenge in time for Churchill's broadcast at 15:00 BST,' is also being inferred because they hope to finish in time but they don't know if they will. They may not finish in time for the Broadcast. Who knows?

A list has been used 'However, various events are still going ahead, including:' it suggests a itinerary of the day's events and makes it easier for people to read and understand. It's effective because it makes people want to read it more as it's in an easier and more appealing format than being in one long line.
A caesura has been used 'All public gatherings have been cancelled - but a series of events is still going ahead to mark the end of fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe during World War Two.' it suggests that although all public events have been cancelled the day won't go without any celebration. It's effective because at first a negative thought was shown but after the pause a positive thing was said meaning there is always light at the end of the tunnel and reflects on what we are going through now that we have to stick together and like the classic wartime song 'We'll meet again'.
