-colonists began to stockpile weapons because of unfair laws and taxation the British didn't like that so they started to confiscate the settlers weapons and gunpowder
-the colonists began to realize that they would be stronger if they worked together
-1774 11 of 13 colonies have joined the network of communion with committees of their own
-1774 all the colonies got together except Georgia and at the meeting, they voted to send a strong letter to King George asking him to give them certain rights
-King George refused to even read the letter
-after what the king did colonists began boycotting against British goods and they knew the king would send his army and defend his rules
-Then redcoats came by the hundreds
-some of the citizen soldiers in towns and cities were called minutemen because they could be ready to fight the British in sixty seconds or less
-the small colonial militias were ready to take on Britain

-the British were not happy about being exposed so they decided to march from Boston to Lexington where they heard the weapons and gunpowder were hidden but they were farther along the road in concord
