Toby speaks about how she was just trying to prove a point. If you voted to kill her, you would all be forced out into the real world, no memories of their past. If they kept her alive, she would let them live in harmony in the school, and let them live in the utopia she built outside.

Then, everyone’s memories are restored. Cameron leads them to escape through a secret entrance in the cafeteria. They can go back to their normal lives, and finally lay their friends to rest.
