"Wait no...guys! It's not m-" Joshua was cut off, a claw-like chain clamping down around his neck. His eyes brimmed with black as he was violently dragged off, Joshua clawing at the metal in vain.
When his eyesight cleared up again, he was in a hallway. Hope filled him, as the chain unlocked, and he noticed Connor waving at him from the distance. "We're free!" Connor yelled, "We can go home! Let's go!"
Josh smiled. His charges were dropped. He wouldn't die, he could be with Connor forever. Josh started to walk, which turned into a run as he got closer and closer. Freedom was so close, it was right there.
Then the floor opened, and he tumbled down, yelling out for Connor. He sat at the bottom, his heart racing. That's when the walls started closing in.
"No."
"I'm not going to die!" Joshua screamed, and pressed his palms against the wall, scaling up it.
"WE'RE GOING TO BE FREE CONNOR. FREE TOGETHER!"
He looked up, so close to the hole. He could see Connor waving at him, beckoning him up. The walls closed in, closer and closer. Connor reached out to him, whispering in a ghostly voice, "Come....join me..."
Joshua reached up, his fingers stretching out as much as possible.
"Connor I-" He started, but then with a fatal WOOSH, the trap door shut, snipping off Joshua's arm. Brutal pink blood splattered across the hallway floor, as all went silent. Joshua would never love again.
