so my physics is a college class but im taking it in highschool as an advanced placement class so i can get credit without paying big bucks at a college. teacher is still employed by the high school though. last year he taught regular physics so this year hes teaching twice as much. half of the class has already taken it last year and the teacher is basing the class off of their performance instead of the rest of us who are clearly struggling.

hes a great guy — socially awkward as FUCK — but he has personality. he ends up prioritizing puns over teaching and hes such a fricking genius he has a hard time explaining things well (probably to not belittle us) but he ends up not explaining most things enough. he often skips steps that he can do in his head and it can get confusing over the course of a lengthy example problem.

and the tests. oh my sweet savior the tests. he will teach us how to do something, say calculate the final velocity and angle that a 90 degree collision will create, and itll mostly make sense when were taught it, but on the test its nothing weve learned. its the same stuff in theory, but itll be backwards, as in he will give us the final velocity and angle of a collision and we have to figure out the two original ones. how tf do i do that

its just annoying when you take a class because it looks good on paper and you think itll be a good thing to know later on in life but i took the class expecting the teacher to actually teach, not be gone 60% or more of the time taking care of the second child his wife just had and leaving us with subs who dont even know whats going on. that it, if he even leaves us a sub. last week he straight up forgot to get a sub.

im dropping the class at semester. theyre gonna try and make us pay for the $90 test but thats some bullshit when the teacher isnt even there. my mom told me straight up that unless the principal pays out of his own pocket (since were talking to him about the issues with the class/teacher) then im not taking the test
