Background: Rio Hanzo was born into a lower middle-class family in Ecruteak City, Johto. Both of her parents (Tera Shoto and Hansu Hanzo, who were both born and raised in Ecruteak as well) did factory work. By the age of three she was already speaking both of the languages English and Japanese fluently. On her seventh birthday she received a Totodile. She named it Jimmy. She was always a fan of Unovan culture as opposed to Johtonian, and longed to start a Pokémon journey there with a Tepig. On her eleventh birthday, she came out as a lesbian to her homophobic parents. They not only didn't allow her to go on her Pokémon journey, they disowned her altogether. She decided she was going to go to Unova and try to start her journey there. She managed to stowaway on a few ships and ended up in Undella, where she stayed for two years to avoid getting caught. When she was thirteen she met a girl named Yuki who was there on a vacation with her family. Yuki's family took her in and a bond formed between the two quite quickly. Yuki's parents were accepting and supportive when Rio told them why her family had kicked her out. When they were both fourteen, they auditioned for Rose Entertainment, and both got in together. Rio says she couldn't be happier and is so grateful she met Yuki. She is now dating Yuki as well.

YUKI WINTERS

Background: Yuki was born into a very wealthy family in Circhester City. Her mother Nami Izakawa, a reporter, was from the Kanto region and her father Patterson Winters, a Snom breeder, was from Galar. She was very pressured to do perfectly in everything from a young age, and was speaking fluent English, Japanese, Spanish, German, and French by the time she was 8, as well as playing the piano and violin. It was kinda obvious how gay she was from the time she was 5. Her family brought her to see a gym battle in Hulbury and she wouldn't stop talking about how gorgeous Gym Leader Nessa was. Her parents were supportive. She went to a Galarian Prep School her whole life. When she was thirteen, she went on a cruise to Undella City. On the cruise she met a girl named Rio, and they hit it off immediately. She was running away from home, so Yuki offered for her family to take care of her for a while. A year later, they both auditioned for Rose Entertainment and got in together. The only Pokémon that Yuki has is her two Snom back at home, Fluffy and Buffy. She is now dating Rio.

KANA KARR-HOSHIZAKI

Background: Kana was born to Erika Hoshizaki, a legendary Pokémon researcher, and Hotaru Masaru (who took his wife's last name), a college art professor, in Lilycove City, where they moved to from Pacifidlog Town when they found out they were pregnant. When Kana was just four months old, her mother died in an unknown work-related fatality that still raises questions today. Her father remarried one of his students (who he had secretly been seeing when Erika was still alive). Kana had shown a love for performing since the age of three when she first saw a contest at the Lilyhove Contest Hall. Her favorite Pokémon growing up was Buneary, and she received one when she was five for Christmas. When she was seven, her father Hotaru took his own life in stress from raising a child on his own, since his second wife didn't do much to raise Kana. When she was nine, her stepmother lied about her age so that she could send Kana away early. With her Buneary by her side, Kana got four gym badges- until she was injured in a cave and had to go back home. When she was ten, her stepmother sent her away, again, this time to Alola. She became friends with the champion, Andi Karr, and was quickly taken in by Andi's adoptive father Looker Karr and his girlfriend Anabel (last name unknown) who were both members of the International Police. Anabel was also from Hoenn and started teaching Kana English. When she was 12, she almost became the champion of Unova with Pokémon she had borrowed from the professor, until she found out her then toxic boyfriend, Natural Harmonia Gropius, revealed to her that he never loved her and was using her. She gave up and sunk into a deep depression, as well as developing suicidal thoughts and an eating disorder. The model Elesa remembered her from the gym challenge and put in a good word with Chairman Rose, who invited her to the Alolan auditions for Rose Entertainment. She got in. Her songwriting ability was displayed when she wrote the group's second song Brand New Girl. At 13, she pursued the gym challenge in Galar with her now Lopunny and reached the semifinals, undefeated before being beat by her best friend and rival. She returned to RYK shortly after. She is not dating anyone at the moment, but fans have speculated she may be crushing on someone based on her recent songs- and some people think it's the champion and her best friend, Hop Owens.
