It’s science, not art
Measure your strokes and step with it, geometry is infinite.
So it means fencing becomes endless, an unlimited possibility. And your muse perfects this art through science.

As you perceive the effective weapon, capture its tempo and measure with it.
As you cover with your point at their face, your own strikes go hammering at their head as well.

To play against wide crossings, thrust and don't depart from him. Constrain the opponent in the half-sword logically and confront him, note to cross with strength.
Make your cover with the back hand, and strike with the fore hand, pass outside without fear, and with your arms inside to provide cover.
The foundation of this art is to measure your own tempo and theirs.
So move with good feinting by obfuscating, and concealing from the man’s defence to prevent him from understanding your intention with either side.
Half Tempo is an execution in a single turning with good measure, it strikes and parries in one go, practice it reasonably.
Many opponents will string combinations through turns, so move with them, harmonise with him and their strikes.
If you want to dissolve illusions, take the boar’s tusk stance and dislodge as he turns.
Go into the archer’s guard if he's in the iron gate guard, move out of the way at the joining.
Don't let yourself develop their guards and don't strike far away, it's sensible for your sword to make short movements.

Your point should watch their face, whether with guards or striking, make it so he always sees the blade pointed at his face.
And make your plays go forward with a hand that's serene and nimble to break their tempo.



You should know there is only one art of the sword developed some hundred years ago, and this art is the foundation and core of any fencing.
And this art is honest, it's about moving straight and simple to the nearest target and taking the most direct way.

Lead ahead to the nearest target. Serious fencing moves simply, directly and straight without any hesitation or pause just like a string. Like everything being exactly measured or calculated.

If one intends to strike or thrust another who stands in front of him, no thrust or strikes in any other directions... or wide swings, or multiple strikes will ever help. If you want to bring it to a quick end, yet hesitate and move slowly, you should just leave the of combat!

Therefore, you instantly strike at the nearest and most accessible target you can reach. And this should be done quickly with one strike rather than with four or six, or by spending precious time looking and analysing. Also move lightly and nimbly.

Your fencing should be accompanied with a positive and resolute attitude with wits and common sense without any fear.
