Ducking down, she avoided another blow to the head, further angering the figure in front of her. She was always told by her peers in life that these figures were ones she should look up to, though it never seemed to be a choice. How could she look up these monsters if this is how she gets treated?

One time, when someone came close to finding out about this treatment, she had to hide any piece of evidence. Concealer on her bruises, band-aids on the cuts on her wrist and any notes talking about this tossed into the fireplace as if none of it ever existed. Not a trace.

Her boyfriend of a year had seen multiple bruises, though he never seemed to want to ask. Yes, she was thankful but she just wished he'd ask. He's the only one she'd open up to about this.

As oblivious as her character seemed at times, she was aware of any notions or motives people held within their words, and she knew he held no bad motives when he didn't ask. She knew he was a good person, just not wanting to pressure her into telling him what her problem was. But that all changed one night.
