AI in VIRUS
An infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host. Virus is one that can stop its activities when a system scan is going on. However, detecting when a system scan is going on doesn't require AI. If a virus has taken control of your system, it can be programmed to detect and avoid typical virus scanners. The main task of an AI is to evade scanners; otherwise it can't work its mischief. So any AI it possessed would likely be directed at that goal. To use its intelligence effectively, it needs to do something like:
1. neutralize the scanner and make it stop working
2. make the AI work for detecting other viruses, but not this one
3. disguise its operation so it can harm the system without the scanner noticing
4. throw up so many false positives that the scanner and its human operator are defeated
5. spread so rapidly and mutate so quickly that scanner heuristics can't keep up
6. take over entire systems, rather than infecting them, to ensure its spread.

Automating the computer virus response offers the ability to prevent and recover from computer virus incidents with minimal input from and impact on the user. The agent acts to change part of the environment or of its status and influences what it sensed. Non-biological examples include intelligent agents, autonomous robots, and various software agents, including artificial life agents, and many computer viruses.
