Kadınlara yerel seçimlerde seçme ve seçilme hakkı verildi.
Başbakan İsmet İnönü ve İçişleri Bakanı Şükrü Kaya tarafından TBMM’ye “Belediye Kanunu” tasarısı sunulmuş ve bu yasanın 23. maddesi ile “18 yaşını bitirmiş kadınlara yerel seçimler için seçme hakkı”, 24. maddesiyle de “25 yaşını bitirmiş kadınlara seçilebilme” hakkı tanındı.

Kadınlara "Köy İhtiyar Heyeti" ve "Muhtar" seçimlerinde seçme ve seçilme hakkı verildi.
1924’te yürürlüğe giren “Köy Yasası”nın 20. ve 25. maddeleri değiştirilerek, kadınlara “Köy İhtiyar Heyeti” ve “Muhtar” seçimlerinde seçme ve seçilme hakkı verildi.

Kadınlara Genel seçimlerde 22 yaşında seçme, 30 yaşında seçilme hakkı verildi.
Teşkilat-ı Esasiye Kanunu’nun, “18 yaşını bitiren her erkek Türk Mebusan intihabına iştirak etmek hakkına sahiptir.” diyen 10. maddesi ile “Otuz yaşını ikmal eden her erkek Türk Mebus intihap edilme salahiyetine sahiptir.” diye şart koşan 11. maddesi, “Yirmi iki yaşını bitiren kadın, erkek her Türk Mebus seçmek hakkına haizdir.” ve “Otuz yaşını bitiren kadın, erkek her Türk Mebus seçilebilir.” maddeleri ile değiştirilmiştir.
