Dear judge, I will try to be quick and concise incase in my explanation to why I believe to be not guilty of the given charge. The speed limit on the riverside drive from inception to end is 25mph. I will admit that I was hovering 30, but thats due to the nature on the strip i was stopped on. I'm sure you are aware of this specific location on riverside drive due to the rampant amount of speeding tickets that are issued there daily (including the person that was already being pulled over when I was waved down to stop). Its about a mile or so long until a traffic light, which is rare on NYC roads. This causes cars and trucks to often pursue a speed slightly faster than 25mph. This puts me in an odd predicament, since I ride a 125cc motorcycle, which is at length smaller than most pedal bikes. So at best I attempt to ride the speed of traffic to avoid being haphazardly cut off, and letting people ahead of me when possible. I'm also aware that the ticket being issued is for being 11-30 mph over the speed limit, though the officier had told me he had paced me at a lower speed.
