About me
My name is Anders Olsen, my friends call me Andy and I am Danish.
I live in Germany Augsburg, Bavaria with my better-half girlfriend at the time, but I have no issues moving closer to my future work place. We met at the Kögnigsee climbing/hiking in the awesome mountains of the Bavarian Alps! So we share the same passion for that.


Education
I have attended teaching from two top Danish universities CBS-executive and DTU-business, where I hold a Masters Degree in Management of Technology, MMT and an Executive MBA title.
I have also studied Law at Copenhagen University, but I quit after the first semester.
(I enjoyed Danish constitutional law the most, because it had the best teacher, but there are not many jobs internationally in that tiny area, unlike math or sales or marketing, so I decided to stop.)

Professional work experience
I have worked for around 8 years in a Danish startup IT software company named Dralle A/S, it was my job to sell the 3D-image analysis measurement systems to large forest owners like the state forest around Europe.

Like the Bayerische Staatforsten, Thüringen Forst, Landesbetrieb Forst Brandenburg etc. but it was also used in Sweden and Denmark.

I also did business development work like getting the type approvals from PTB in Germany or VMR in Sweden.

I began as a Project Manager there and ended up as CMO, sales & marketing manager.
It was an IT/software company, but we also made Apps to supplement our business solutions, before there was anything called AppStore or Android - we used internal development work for Palm devices or Windows phones or Siemens phones.
The App was a stack registration App used by the forest workers sending stack ready for measurement information to the forest office.



I also worked as Managing Director Europe for another Danish startup SaaS software company named Wuxus A/S for around two years helping the small haulers by filling up their half empty trucks better, when using our App. For iOS, Android or windows phone.

I managed the development process there internally and externally.
We had internal front-end and back-end developers. We used amazon cloud servers and used an external and internal App development team.

I have also worked trying to fund my own App idea, however I only received around 15-20% funding when somebody else copied some of my App idea.

I am also a longtime member of two Danish non-profit organizations named Connect-Denmark and Keystones, where its members help scale up startup companies with a big growth potential. (I can always decide how active or passive I am there.)

+45K EUR in bonus.

My job application answers to your questions:
Sales marketing and business development I had those as my most important new hires.

Lets take business development first - to find out what the customer needs in order to buy your product like a type approval for everyone or something unique that can be done with a plug-in software system.

Then marketing to reach out to a huge group of potential customers and bring them into your store or website. Like doing presentations and demonstration of products at trade fairs or making product movies etc.

Sales to close a certain amount of those potential customers making them real paying customers in the end, by doing contract negotiation and getting them the best deal possible for both parties.

I know that you also need a good financial person to make budgets and pay out monthly salaries, estimate the value of startup companies, if sold or doing due diligence, but the best ones that I have ever had the pleasure working with was self employed - only selling their skills as a service.

The same goes for HR consultants they are often better than your own HR department if you even have one. They are expensive to use, so it's mostly only manager positions or above that they help fill. And they sell their skills and HR network as a service as well.

Trade fairs and their business partners as your next possible customer group.
It's a huge business in Germany with many different kinds of trade fairs with 50K to 500K visitors on a weekly basis.

Everything from Electronics, Forestry, Cars, Gaming and even Undertaker Trade fairs.
They are all represented there.

Germany is a bit traditional, so it's perhaps nessecery to spread out your App user acquisition to trade fairs and not only focus on the Internet for customer acquisition.
