A requirement of rental is that the customer meets our minimum age requirements. Usually, the minimum age is displayed after we have entered all of our rate qualifiers.

The minimum age for Hertz is 20 years, Dollar is 21 years and Thrifty is 21 years with all having an age differential, however certain states may allow for renters 18+. There are potential exceptions that are automatically checked by the system. These exceptions may include information in conjunction with an organization, or company affiliation, form of payment, membership in certain programs, etc. There are a number of variations!

There is no maximum age for rental as long as the customer has a valid unexpired driver's license and meets other qualifications.

To the right of the NO Field, the level of Gold Service (G, 5*G, Pres, etc).

AB Field - Age Birth Field

Ask caller if they are 25 or older
If yes, enter C/ABY
If no, enter 2-digit month and 2-digit year - C/AB1095
Have they had their birthday yet? If booking same month as birthday, and haven't had birthday yet, enter next month in AB field.
Example: Booking for February 20th, but birthday is Feb. 26th, system will assume they have had their birthday this year and you will need to enter March in AB field.


NOTE: If entering a loyalty number and the customer is 100+ years old the age field is defaulting to display as 1 year old. For these customers you must manually enter C/ABY.

CY Field - City of Pickup

Enter the 2-letter state/country code followed by the 3-letter city code.

Enter the number of days a customer is renting the car. Examples:

*Note: ND Field only hold two digits, so for rentals of 100+ days, the ND will reflect 99.

Advise: "I'll place the reservation for 1 day, and you can extend the rental as needed."
