is obvious, people live by certain routines and rituals that they do on a daily basis. For example, a person may go for a run each morning at 6 am, go back home take a shower and get ready for work, head out to work at 8 am, go out for a lunch break at 1 pm, and get home from work at 5 pm and so on. If someone has a repetitive lifestyle it is more prone for offenders to learn those routines quickly and know when you will be alone so they can victimize you. Also, just certain life choices that you make such as living in a bad neighborhood or walking home alone at night can trigger a perpetrator to lock eyes on you. Many different kinds of people can be targeted but this theory is mainly focused on their lifestyle choices. If you decide to hang out with the wrong crowd you are putting yourself in harm's way and are more subject to be victimized. Now there are many different ways to bypass this, for one hang out with people who are not criminals; that's a pretty obvious one. Also, another helpful way to become less victimized by this theory would to not have a set routine, change the way you come home every now and again, take different streets with more light, leave at slightly different times so everything isn't so clean and concise just in case there is a person watching your every move.
