Qatar Media Corporation aims to provide Microwave IP link to be a part of its Audio and Video
Destitution network
• This phase of IP Connectivity project is to provide a 500 Mb/s Capacity link from head end located
in Doha, DOHA station Station Coordinates: Latitude (25164400'N) & Longitude
(51'30'11.79 "E), to a transmitter site located in AL-SHAHANYA AL SHAHANYA station
Coordinates: Latitude (25*1942.50N) & Longitude 151"1234.52"E)
.The link should work in 7GHz band available for MC
• The link should handle IP Streams already encoded in Doha Station and transfer data between the
sites (Doha Station & AL-SHAHANYA Station)
• Site survey should be done by the bidder for the existing towers that will carry the antennas and
feeders.
•
The Product must support CCDP Operation Mode (Co-Channel Dual Polarization) utilizing both
vertical and horizontal Polarizations for effective Spectrum usage with a high XPD (Cross Polar
Discrimination) value.
•
The Radio Link should be deployed with Space Diversity to eliminate/reduce the impact of
Multipath Fading and Refraction. Space Diversity must operate in alignment with CCDP
• The Radio Link must support a minimum capacity of 500 Mbps
•
The Radio Link must secure protection for all Hardware including: Antennas. Radios,
Feeders/Cables and the Baseband Cards. If a failure occurs in any part of these Hardware
components then the whole traffic to be shifted to the second leg
. The highest Modulation to be used is 64 QAM to have a link that is more reluctant to bad
propagation conditions and have a good SNR.
