Album :- Kaaviyathalaivan
Music - A R Rahman.
First of all i would like you to inform you all about this album in short what it is and what you need to expect in it. This film KT is based on a drama happened in 1930's and the music has to match that period and please for god sake do not expect something which is usual with Rahman Ji :) It is not that kind of album this is Vintage Album that can be released straight before in 1930's :) Now the review , Sorry its not review its just my first view :) Later will review in detail after repeated no of listenings because it is Rahman Album you know how his magic works. ;)

1) Thiruppugazh :- Singer :- Vani Jayaram.
It sounds more of Devotional type song.. Brilliant orchestration.. Reminds just the old times where people just immerse deep into an song which is devotional even if its a film song and i'm damn sure this song can be heard in most of the morning's in future like in buses,shops, houses, and even temples. Such a classic little beauty it is. No surprise at all. :)

2) Vaanga Makka Vaanga - Singers - Haricharan, Dr. Narayanan.
This is introduction song in the film i guess, the start of all the characters and the plays is said in a musical way. It was like that in that period even if its a information will be always conveyed in a song. That type of song it is. Excellent usage of Flute and ghatam's. Peppy traditional tamizh song. It's like ARR calling us to listen this album personally. Vaanga makka vaanga enga paata ketka vaanga :) Neenga paarkadha ulagatha kaatuvom with this album ;) Sure he did .

3) Yaaarum Illa - Singers Shweta mohan, Srinivas.
A poetical soothing romantic song reminds us of olden times where a lady sings alone in her dreams like in her home with lots of birds and flowers around her.
A sweet dream type of song which has very romantic lyrics and AR excels here in tune where Shweta Mohan sings like " Athu oru ekandha kaalam un madiyil sayntha kaalam" Sweet song :) will be remembered for long that kind.

4) Aye Mr. Minor - Haricharan Seshadri, Shashaa Kiran Tirupati (Reecha)
Agmark romantic beats peppy number of olden times, Perfect choice of singers always by ARR. Hari and shasha did their best. The music in background takes me to MGR Ji duets. The piece comes from 1:39 is just so romantic makes one not in love to fall in love. Can expect heroine and hero to just go around the park and dance crazy. Love with the song. Absolute classic.

5) Sandi kuthirai - Singer - Haricharan
Never expected such type of an song from A R Rahman ji. It is one song that makes anyone murmur and dance forget all the sadness. Crazy fast number will be loved by all ages. Reminds us the style of vishwanathan velai venum song in a r rahman style. The orchestration is just vintage & mindblowing .. i'm stunned !!

6) Sollividu sollividu.. Singer mukesh..
A great song which has grand instruments and orchestration at the start and also a anger and yearning lyrics to the creator. A Sakthi kodu kind of song in vintage style. Very powerful lyrics adds to it in the end. Followed by a sad note karna motcham which sung to krishna by Arjuna... Leaves us in tears.. A heart touching song. Will be a more important song in the film for sure.

7) The last but not least. Multi - Variety Stage play song. Man this is multi variety of music in one song.. Haricharan and ARR has done some phenomenal stuff .. The stage drama song alli arjuna has lots of inner songs which is rebiliious romantic sad happy religious and what not? Its got every stuff in it. Nenju porukavillaiye!! thalaivaaaa muaaaahh..

This Song which is in bits will be reviewed in detail separately below -

1) Alli Arjuna - Vandhanam Vandhanam - Singer - Haricharan
Starts of with Nadhasawaram and Melam its kind of saying welcome to the stage play in their style of music and lyrics. A sweet small number.

2) Alli Arjuna - Yaadhavanam - Singer - Haricharan
A love song about Arjuna and his love Alli described in a poetical manner which is a melody .

3) Alli Arjuna - Alli Varugiral - Singer - Haricharan
Arjuna describes Alli's beauty this is a peppy number like maduraiku pogadha de song in ATM. Rahman does magic and makes us Humm even if its a minute less song. :)

4) Alli Arjuna - Priya Sakhikiye - Singer - Bela Shende
A reply to Arjuna by Alli in the same kind of peppy style in female voice. Imagine this song in stage play kind. Would be a visual musical treat for sure.

5) Alli Arjuna - Kanna Kanna - Singer -Haricharan.
Arjuna praises about himself to Alli and people in a dialogue and sings about Alli and her naughty behaviour. And his conversation with his friend kanna. Rahman used flute as a main key here which is quite refreshing.

6) Alli Arjuna - Naan Annathooviyil - Singers - Haricharan, Bela Shende
A sad song where alli asks Arjuna to do something to prove himself and the tune is very small but damn catchy. ♥

7) Gettimellam instrumental - Seems like Alli and Arjuna gets married :) This song reveals the story of stage play i guess :P lol never underestimate the power of rahmaniacs. they go deeper than anybody for AR music. :)

8) Nenju porukadhillaye - Singer - Haricharan
A powerful lyrical song about Tamizh, Mother , Female and love for country. ARR has stamped his best for this whole song. One of a Very tough composition in recent years of AR's would be this.

Now overall the album Kaaviyathalaivan is a Kaaviyam - One of its kind which is very rare to tamil cinema. Haricharan has to be damnb lucky to be the Voice of Arjuna in this whole album and amost all the songs by him. He does a mohit chauhan here in South likewise Mohit did for rockstar in North. Rockstar was the best album of Rahman in hindi. And undoubtedly, this KT album will be even more great in repeated listenings beacause it has got multiple hardwork and real music in it. This album deserves National Award. KT one of the rare gem in A.R. Rahman's Galaxy.

My Rating on my first view is - 10/10. Top notch. I've never exaggerated and i've given what i felt and its fully my opinion about the Album. No offence to anyone.
Please Buy Original CD or Digitally. Thank you for KT Rahmanji. Haricharan you did an awesome job man, after this you gonna be busy for many years in TC. All the best. Now can't wait for the BGM and Film. Audio on loop as of now. Keep Rahmaning. :) -
