My Grievance
I went for an interview at my friends place of work, we worked together for two years but I had known her since primary school and when she started a new job she wanted me to join them. I went to meet the manager, he seemed really nice, I had experience with a very nasty one in the past. I was told to get the job I had to pass an online test, which I did with flying colours.
I received my contract and offer of employment letter at the beginning of March 2014
I signed both documents and handed them back to my employer, the offer of employment said my pay would be reviewed in one year. My friends said the same, after her first year she received a $3000 pay rise, I thought cool. when my year passed I asked him about my pay review he said yes I will talk to you tomorrow. I was told by him the following day I've reviewed it your not getting one. I was upset because I had worked so hard throughout the year. He offered me a cleaning job in the office for $500 a year I said no thank you. I did the cleaning anyway that wasn't the point, he broke his promise.
2016 my friend opened a letter in the office addressed to my manager it was from Capita he would get some new furniture etc and pay it off through Capita monthly payments. This letter was an invoice for a car which went through the business we work on a profit sharing scheme anything that is bought throughout the year comes off our bottom line. she went balistic! 'look wot he's done, he's bought his wife's car through the company,'
