Hi Ram,

Thanks for writing in and for being a valuable Flipkart Plus member.

We understand that you have an issue with your product 'Redmi 8 (Sapphire Blue, 64 GB)'.

We are sorry for the trouble you had to go through.

We'd like to let you know that please follow these troubleshooting steps.

1. Check Volume

Check if the speaker volume on the device is set to low. If yes, kindly increase the volume.

2. If this not work then check Audio - Check protective case.

- Please remove any protective case that might be covering the speaker
- Check if anything is blocking the speaker/microphone.

3. If problem not resolved then 'Restart the device':

- Smartphones are just like computers. They have Processes and Services running in the background and need a restart regularly (At least once a week).

- If these processes and services are running for a long time without a restart, they may cause issues.

- Restarting your device gives it a fresh start and is sometimes all you need to fix your issue.

- Press and hold the Power button on your smartphone to Restart the device (If the restart isn't available, turn Off and then turn On your smartphone).

- Press and hold the power key, If the touch panel doesn't respond.

4. If problem not resolved then play a ringtone to test:

- Scroll up and tap Settings
- Tap Sound and then Phone ringtone
- Try playing any of the ringtones listed here
- If the ringtone is audible, then the speaker is working fine
- Stock Android screenshots. May vary on some devices

5. If problem not resolved then Reboot into safe mode:

- Press and hold the power button
- Tap and hold the Power off option
- On the confirmation pop-up, tap OK
- The phone should now reboot into safe mode. This can be confirmed by the safe mode icon at the bottom left corner
- Now, please check if the device has the same issue

Eg: If a particular app wasn't working correctly, open the app to check functionality
Just reboot normally to exit safe mode

6. If problem not resolved then uninstall recently installed apps:

- Swipe up to open the App drawer
- Tap and hold the app you want to uninstall
- Tap App Info
- Tap Uninstall
- Tap OK to confirm the uninstallation
- Once done, you will see a confirmation

7. If problem not resolved then check for an OTA update:


Note: Things to remember before the update:

- Make sure the you are connected to WiFi. (If Wi-Fi issue, you may have to use the mobile data)
- Make sure the battery is charged above 50% or is connected to the charger during the update
- You can backup any important data, if required.
- Scroll up and tap Settings
- Scroll down and tap System
- Tap Advanced (if available)
- Scroll down and tap System updates, the system will look for an update
- If an update is available, tap download and install
- If an update is not available, the device will show you that the current software is up-to-date

7. If problem not resolved then perform a Factory Reset

Note: WARNING

- you can loose your data.
- If required, please backup data.
- Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged.
- If applicable, remove the SD Card from the device to prevent accidental formatting while resetting.

- Scroll up and tap Settings
- Scroll down and tap System
- Tap Advanced (if available)
- Scroll down and tap Reset options
- Tap Erase all data (factory reset)
- Tap Reset Phone
- Tap Erase Everything to ini

If these steps doesn't work you can visit the nearest service centre.
