My first thoughts after watching the first stream of MC5 multiplayer on Twitch

1. ) The game looks slower than MC4, which is something I never thought possible. How could this even happen? How can you develop a MODERN WARFARE style game and have your mechanics model those of Hellen Keller?! I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm not familiar with all of the perks (or skills, whatever they're called) yet, but even if there is one that increases your speed, you can't fix how slow this game is. Just that alone makes me not want to even purchase the game and I am a die-hard MC fan..

2.) The map was pathetic. It was the only one I've seen so far, but my god it was awful. it looked like a NOVA 1 map!! Not to mention that it was huge with literally no cover (that I could see, because of the fog...). I am so disappointed..

3.) You have to wait 5 seconds before respawning.. Every MC before has had 3 or less seconds of wait before spawn.. Now you are forced to wait almost twice that. It may not seem like much, but even I was grimacing at the wait by just watching the livestream.

4.) Fog. I know some may argue that It's a good thing for older devices, but fog has forced more players to quit NOVA 3 than lag caused players to quit games. Reduction in graphics and particles and lights are one thing, but reduction in vision all-together is completely another. I am thankful that I have devices with the power I need to not have to worry about the fog, but I truly feel bad for those who do not get to play the game at a fair level.

5.) Aside from the fact that the knife button was separate from the others, I didn't find one positive in the multiplayer stream. I am not exaggerating. I am fully prepared to get to have my hopes let down by the release of this game that has been in development for far too long. I thought MC4 was going to be the end of my Modern Combat journey, but it looks as if the upcoming addition to the series will be the game's end. Unless I see another stream tomorrow that turns my opinions around, I'm not even sure if I will purchase this game, which is a very hard thing for me to say. I have stayed up for the midnight release for MC2, 3, and 4. Unfortunately, this game seems ruined, and because the servers on the other games are ruined as well, this looks to be the demise of the beloved Modern Combat series.
