Notes

I yank the door open and gasp. It's him. It's Shawn. My lover, my soulmate, my sweetheart. "Hi," I breathe, "I thought you weren't coming 'til later." Shawn smiles. "Surprise." He reaches out and wraps his fingers around the back of my neck, thumb against my jaw, pulling me to him. I kiss him as hard as I can, and he kisses me back, open-mouthed and desperate. His mouth against mine feels so perfect, so familiar. We're both panting, dizzy with need. Shawn uses his hand on my neck to tilt my head back, and latches his mouth onto my neck, sucking and biting. He finds my sweet spot, the little dip just under my jaw, and presses his lips to it tenderly. A guttural moan escapes my lips and I feel him smile against my throat. He loves hearing me moan and whimper because he knows it's because of him, always and forever. No one could ever make me feel like Shawn does. I pull back and tell him so and his expression is that of pure happiness. His gathers me into his arms, pulling me into his chest like we can't be close enough. "I never wanna leave you again," he mumbles into my shoulder. I pet his hair, whispering sweet nothings into his ear. After several long moments, we pull apart and he takes my face in his hands and presses his lips to my forehead. It's such a sweet gesture - something he used to do so much before he left and something I've been missing since then - that I start to cry softly, just a few tears sliding down my cheeks. I sniffle and Shawn pulls back, face creased in concern. "Baby, don't cry. What's wrong? What did I do?" I cry harder, falling into his chest again. He wraps his arms around me and I feel like a baby in a soft, warm cocoon of blankets. "You didn't do anything," I whisper. "I just... missed you so much and I'm happy you're back." Shawn makes a happy cooing sound and I giggle, knowing he's pleased with my words. "I missed you, too, love. You don't know how much I missed you," he says brokenly, burying his face in my neck. We just stand there for a long time, embracing on my front porch.
