CLUB BRUGGE SPEELT TEGEN HET BIJZONDER ERVAREN GALATASARAY
Woensdagavond neemt Club Brugge het thuis op tegen de Turkse topclub Galatasaray SK. In Jan Breydel moet er eigenlijk meteen gewonnen worden.
Korte historie
Galatasaray is uiteraard al jaren één van de grootste clubs uit Turkije. 22 titels, 18 bekers en 1 UEFA Cup liegen er niet om. Vorig seizoen werd na een moeilijke competitiestart de dubbel gepakt met een voorsprong van twee punten op Istanbul Basaksehir. Topschutter in dat seizoen werd Mbaye Diagne met 31 stuks, hij is de laatste aanwinst van tegenstander Club Brugge.
De laatste keer dat Galatasaray een Belgische ploeg tegenkwam was in het seizoen 2014/2015. Tegen Anderlecht kon het enkel thuis een punt pakken. In het Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi Türk Telekom Stadyumu eindigde de wedstrijd op 1-1, Anderlecht won thuis met 2-0 dankzij doelpunten van Chancel Mbemba.
