My first choice - Commercial Art & Graphic Design - seemed a bit natural for me, as I have started taking up drawing as a serious hobby in 5th grade and have been thinking about getting a job relating to it since then. This course would help me get used to the high expectations of the industry, as well as getting critique that I so desperately need to improve on my artistic skills. It would also help me learn new techniques that I may not have otherwise learned or, at the very least, not have understood as quickly.


My second choice - Computer Science - comes from my fascination with the programming language and how it shapes our world today. Everything, from a simple website to the robots of the future, is made with a computer, and the demand for more programmers keeps rising. This course would help me learn and utilize the programming and technical skills that would be needed to make all sorts of inventions and ideas that would help shape the future of the world.


I have wanted to do both of these things since young, my first being learning how to program. When I was very little, I grew a fascination with video games, and, the older I got, the more I wanted to to make one. Unfortunately, I did not know all the much about programming back then, and I didn't know where to go to learn such a skill.


When 3rd grade rolled around, I started to start copying pictures of characters from a book I had gotten from Scholastic Magazine on a whim. I would draw them, and a classmate of mine would then color. Once I moved schools, I started to doodle in the back of my notebooks. They were bad, but I was getting praised for them. Before I knew it, I was drawing a lot in school. I even got threatened by my teacher that my notebook would be taken away if I didn't stop! Eventually I got good, good enough that I decided to try my luck for a website called CelebratingArt. Imagine my surprise when I was recognized as one of the top 25%!


I have been invited to be in National Junior Honor Society by my school, and I had been in Girl Scouts for seven years. I thank you for your time reading this, and hope you havve a good day.
