Türk ressam, karikatürist, yazar, film yönetmeni, editör, oyun yazarı, seramikçi, şair, sanat tarihçisi, folklor araştırmacısı ve çevirmen kimlikleriyle işler üretti.
Çok yönlü bir kültür adamı olan Abidin Dino, çağdaş Türk resminin öncülerindendir. Türk resim tarihinde D Grubu ve Yeniler Grubu adlarıyla anılan sanat topluluklarının öncülerinden oldu. Türkiye'nin yanı sıra Fransa, Cezayir, ABD gibi ülkelerde sergiler açmış, yurtdışında "Fransa Plastik Sanatlar Birliği Onursal Başkanlığı", "New York Dünya Sanat Sergisi Danışmanlığı" gibi görevler üstlendi.
Sol siyasi görüşlü bir aydın olan Dino, siyasi düşünceleri nedeniyle bir süre Türkiye'de sürgünde yaşadıktan sonra önce Roma’da sonra da 1952'den itibaren yaşamını Paris'te sürdürdü.
Şair, Arif Dino'nun kardeşi, yazar Güzin Dino'nun eşidir. Beşiktaş kulübü tarafından efsane futbolcular arasında gösterilen ünlü kaleci Sabri Dino'nun da amcasıdır.</p></div>
