So Deolu and I have been in contact, We have always been interacting and Adeolu blows my mind with the passion and level of commitment he puts into trying to learn to code. Often times, he reaches out when he is blocked solving problems. He is trying his best to live a normal life. I also met his mum at the hospital, I discussed with her and she shared a lot with me. God bless his mother! Adeolu practically spends most of his time running tests, visiting doctors just to pro-actively check his health. She’s always with him every step spending huge sums of money on his tests. A typical CT & MRI scan cost over 150K. Imagine always having to repeat these tests. Whew!!!

During my conversations with Deolu, I realized his desires aren’t far-fetched, he is trying to attain some level of independence, trying to learn to code but faced with several challenges like lack of power supply, internet access, and several other issues. He currently stays in Mowe and he complained that sometimes they don’t have power supply for months. This completely defeats his purpose of trying to learn. The thought of staying idle for hours doing nothing can make me sick, can’t imagine what Deolu has been going through all these years! Deolu is strong!!

Here is an individual who just wants to be INDEPENDENT. Back in Jextoban, Deolu made attempts to walk, now he is mostly carried! I was so sad!
Spoke to him recently and just thought we could do something for him. Maybe try to set him up to focus on his coding journey
I thought about the following for him:
1. New laptop to code
2. A unit of solar panel with 1KW inverter and a battery for power supply
3. Internet modem
4. Mentorship from fellow coders in the group.
5. I would give access to all my training portals and resources to help him learn to code.

I am hoping we can raise enough money for our meetup and try to use some funds to help Deolu!
He has been idle for year, almost helpless, just going in and out of hospitals!
