6th decembary, Brutus and Blip joined, made a bow
7th decembary, a woman wandered nearby
10th decembary, killed a moose, made tribalwear
12th decembary, traders from Rara, sold brutus and blip, bought cow Bessie, a man from TGPA attacked, traders killed him, he beat up an old slave. her name is Leba, saved her, waiting for her to heal up.
13th decembary, wild woman tearing chunks from the raider's body and eating them raw.
3rd aprimay, made a bed, it's horrible, figured out pemmican
4th aprimay, the cotton of the prairie came, along with Chili, my son, a bunch of pugs came, killed them all
5th aprimay, the first frost, harvested remaining rice, most was blighted
9th aprimay, built an unheated room for storing food. The wild woman must've died
10th aprimay, made a parka, a transport pod with Michael crashed right next to the colony. Old guy, a gunshot in his chest. patched him up, he's resting
11th aprimay, early morning, another transport pod. A person from an enemy faction, took them in to heal and rest.
12th aprimay, talked to the prisoner, his name is wraith. Apparently his old colony is a shitty place. I wanted to release him but i'm sure he'll join after a bit of convincing. Michael thinks it's a good idea. Traders from Paus came along and killed the crazy muffalo outside. They didn't really have anything of interest. There was a young girl who talked to me a bit. First snow of the year
13th aprimay Michael is almost completely healthy. I hope he'll stay around. The traders left and one of their dogs was mauled by a muffalo and left behind. The muffalo will probably die soon which is okay with me. More meat and furs is never a bad thing. I don't know what to do with the dog though. Don't want to kill it like i had to with the pugs. Talked to Wraith, he said his mood is really shitty. I would've let him go but he really doesn't look like he wants to go back to wherever he came from. I feel like he'll join any time now. I feel like i should've sold Bessie. I'll butcher her if she's too hungry, they would've done the same anyways. I took the dog in. Would feel bad about letting him freeze to death.
14th aprimay, Michael left today. Can't say i blame him. Wraith admitted to hating his old colony today. He promised me to stay here. I wanted to make a bed for him right away but he insisted on doing it himself. He even took mine apart and made a better one. Guess he actually knows how to do it. Will probably expand the first room tomorrow. I called the dog Grumpy.
15th aprimay, Wraith expanded our bedroom so now it's almost as big as the multipurpose room. He said he loves plants, we might have lots of food and medicine once spring comes. Our pemmican is dwindling quickly but there's enough animals around to hunt. Wraith is wonderful. He can even mine. He's also great at shooting, or at least that's what he tells me.
1st Jugust, winter is here. I slaughtered Bessie today. There's no way she'd live until spring and i didn't want to see her in pain. Grumpy is sick. I'll try and look for some healroot but if i can't find any that's it for him too. Wraith asked me to date him and i refused. Then he got angry at me for killing bessie like there was anything else i could've done.
2nd of jugust, it's horribly cold outside. Even with the fire, it's barely above freezing inside. A slaver from rara stopped by today.
3rd of jugust, Grumpy is getting better. the slavers left us a component as a gift. this group is always so kind. A transport pod crashed nearby in the evening. A kid was inside, a 15 year old girl with a prosthetic leg. I took her in and tried to set her back. Her spine was all swollen and probably cracked. Her name's Nyx.
4th of jugust, tried to make recurve bows for me and Wraith but i can't do it. Neither can he. Guess i'll have to learn somehow. I made us both clubs from the steel he mined and a simple bow for him. Nyx is feeling better and decided to stay. I feel sorry for her. She was a talented musician back home. Now she's stuck on this hellish rimworld. Wraith told her that i "killed our cow" like the idiot he is. Grumpy is totally okay now.
5th of jugust, the head of Rara reached out to us and asked Wraith to leave and join Rara, to marry them. I would rather he wouldn't do it, but he thinks my relationship with Rara is too important to refuse. That's just stupid. I need him here, more than i need the occasional slaver from Rara. Especially now that Nyx is here too. We told them we'll decide later. Made a club for nyx
6th of jugust We refused the marriage proposal. I'm not sure how much that will affect my relationship with Rara but i did save one of their people's life so i'd say we're even. I need wraith too much to do this. He agreed to stay. Anyways, he built a new storage shed today. He thinks we should slowly start using more stone for our walls. Nyx apparently saw a lynx fighting a wolf south of us. I'll go check it out later to see if there's something left for us.
7th jugust, went to check it out and sure enough, a dead lynx AND a dead coyote. Too bad it was being eaten by a monstrously large wolverine. Took the lynx corpse at least. Some of it was gone but not too much
8th jugust, wraith built a watchtower so we could see people and animals from a greater distance. A few traders from Pause came in with weapons but i didn't have the silver for anything. One of them seemed really confused so i calmed him down. Turns out he has alzheimer's. A transport pod crashed here, a guy from the Scorpions. he was bleeding out so i saved him. Will let him rest here and then let him go.
9th jugust, a caravan from Hadhiia came here, their country is halfay across the continent. They were selling massive penguins. Don't know why anyone would buy them for the ridiculous price but to each their own. I sold some leathers to them so i have at least some silver. We let the prisoner go today.
10th jugust, Wraith went hunting in the middle of the night and thought shooting an elasmotherium was a good idea. It charged him and shattered his jaw with its horn. He only survived because he lost consciousness for a while and it lost interest.
11th jugust, Wraith must've contracted something from the elasmotherium. I'm afraid it's the plague, I just hope i won't have to use all of the glitter medicine. The elasmotherium is still wandering around and i can't go outside. I'm starving here.
12th jugust, We're all starving, i managed to kill a moose. i had to use the last glitterworld medicine on wraith, hopefully he lives. I've done all i could.
15th jugust, I was out for three days. I just fell to the ground and then i don't remember anything. Wraith is death. The plague was too much. Nyx buried him next to the storage room. She did well. Got us food. Kept me fed. I owe my life to her. I'm just sorry i couldn't save wraith. I could've killed us all. Nyx has the flu but she's strong, she'll handle it. She's been taking healroot. I administered some glitter medicine that Rara left us. Maybe wraith would've been alive if i let him join them. I'm certain he would.
1st Septober I went to the grave. It was nicely dug considering how frozen the ground must've been. I want to make a casket for him though. anyways, I'm cooking and taking care of Nyx all day.
2nd septober, Chef joined today. He used to be a space miner and a medic before that. He seems like a nice guy and he's pretty good looking too. Funnily enough, he can't even sear meat properly. He said Nyx would be okay.
6th septober, nothing has been happening. We built a smithy. Grumpy eats a lot of food but i feel too bad about letting him go. He can stay. We'll have more food after the summer
7th septober, grumpy killed an elk today. He got beat up too tho. Just like when they left him here
8th seprober, finally, a thaw today. We can start planting. Wraith explained to me how to till soil. I wish he was still around.
9th septober, we were starting to plant rice as a panicked elk attacked us. Turns out chef isn't much of a fighter. He was knocked out after one kick. Me and nyx did a bit of damage before we couldn't continue. It lost interest after we fell to the ground and soon bled out. Both me and Nyx got kicked in the chest. Broken ribs, probably a punctured lung. I don't know if we'll make it. We have no medicine.
10th septober, I'm not making it. Neither is Nyx. We talked about nightmares. And death. Then she just got up and left. I guess this is a goodbye. Vladlena Booker, bested by an elk. I bet my students would have a nice laugh about it.
