Please accept my application for the learning assistant position advertised on your school website. I would like to continue to develop my teaching skills while creating a challenging but enjoyable learning atmosphere.

I am professional, studious and supportive individual who works hard to achieve set daily tasks and duties that are given to me unexpectedly, I have a great passion for education and working with children and young people and have been working towards becoming a primary school teacher for several years now. I'm currently in my third year of my BA (Hons) Education Degree at Brunel University and will be carrying out my assessment only route of my QTS in September 2020. Although my course doesn't have QTS, and I do not hold an NVQ in assistant teaching, I have valuable experience and other valuable qualifications to support my application.

I believe I would be a great learning assistant within your school because I am a compassionate and enthusiastic person, who would be fully supportive of the teacher/s that i would be assisting. I have extensive experience working with a variety of children with learning difficulties both in my role as a SEN support worker and being a support worker for my parents, who are specialist foster carers. Furthermore, My work alongside my parents have led to me being able to liaise with professionals to work together to get the needs of a child met, even if that just means additional support with learning via tuition with myself on a weekly basis.

As both my parents and the preschool had their training facilitated by achieving for children, I was able to have access to a variety of in-house training which meant my professional practice developed significantly. I'm always looking to develop and improve my practice with better training and resources. I have recently renewed my e-training in ADHD and Autism awareness, which benefited my role as a one-ton-one support worker in a preschool.

While doing my placement as part of my degree I had the opportunity to work as a TA in year 1 and year 3, and I got to see first hand the impact of my support sessions on the children's educational development. I was required to assist the teach in the preparation of lessons, lesson plans and also making sure the relevant teaching aids and resources were ready and available when required. Additionally, I assisted individuals that needed extra support or had questions about the lesson and was given the responsibility to run both the guided reading groups and maths support sessions, separate from normal lessons.

With my previous experience, qualifications and enthusiasm for education, I feel that I would be a great asset to your school and your team of supporting staff.
