Chapter 1 --- I see you, did you see me?

Bzzt..

Bzzt... Bzzt... Bzzzt..

*click* ...

Pato turned to the other side of the bed, facing the wall as his thoughts came racing through his mind. "... What was I.. dreaming?" He said. He rubbed his face with one hand and slowly sat up straight on the bed. Only a dim ray of sunlight seem to fill up half of the room.

Pato peeked through the curtains of the window, still sitting up straight on his bed, legs crossed. "Oh no!" He jumped out of bed, rushing everything as fast as possible. He barged out of the house and tripped while trying to run by the concrete. He fell and was bruised by the left knee but that didn't stop him from going to where he needed to go.

Running at high speed, Pato bumped into a figure. It gave a squeal as it it hit the ground hard. There was silence for a moment. The figure which he bumped into was a girl. It was the first time Pato's eyes had gleamed with amazement. The girl who laid sprawled on the ground gave an akward blush and lowered her head.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!" Pato reached out his hand to help the girl up. Her head was still lowered. "I.. I'm glad you are here.." she said. "Huh?" Pato stared at her in confusion. Before he could protest, she ran away. "...What did she mean? Glad that I'm here..?" Pato was lost in thought for a moment because of the girl's words. He shrugged and carried on. He seemed to forget what he was doing and had wandered off to a back alley.

"Hey! Pato! Where have you been?" Pato spun to face his friend, Proj. "Oh, Proj! Hi, I didn't see you there!"." What are you doing?". "I was.. rushing to do reports for the community like I always do." Proj gave a stern look at Pato then shook his head. "*sigh* Pato, you're working too hard. Take a break and let the other moderators handle it.". "Well.. it is my duty, isn't it?"

Proj placed his hand in Pato's shoulder. "Kate got it covered. Don't worry.". "Well, I guess you're right." Pato let out a sigh. "All this rushing for nothing. But, I bumped into a girl this morning.. it brightened up my day.". "Eh?!? So unlike you to feel this happy, Pato!! Tell me all about her!" Pato gave a small chuckle as the two boys walked out of the alley, into the Mimebuilders' building.

*click*

"Huh? What was that sound?"

Pato's eyes widened as his eye caught a black figure clutching tightly behind a wall before they entered the building. Questions came rushing into his mind. "Who was that? What is it doing there?" but he decides not to worry about it. After the boys were gone, the figure gave a soft sigh. It was that girl from earlier. She pressed her head back on the wall, taking out her phone to type in some notes.

She let out another sigh as she slowly sat down on the ground, grinning to herself.

"Pato noticed me.."
