I really enjoy home school idea, partly because I am a nerd and hardly communicate with peers, partly because the school program is wicky.
However, this year my daughter started 1st class of music college, I hope she will build social skills and all that strange social stuff) But, Goddness, people are strange:)
Fun geography is cool. So the postcard is about South of Russia and its history.
The image on the postcard is national clothes of south ethnos Cossacks. I live in its territories and some of my ancestors are from this ethnos. Its history is really exciting, these lands were freedom lands stated Right of asylum for the peasants who had fled from Serfdom.
"There is no extradition from Don" was Donland Memorandum's motto and became a proverb used nowadays for smth irrevocable.
All people were warriors (And women too!) since everyone liked to came and take this land - Turkic khanates, Ottomans, Poland and even Englishmen. So it's the history of brave and courage.
But at the same time, it's a very poetic history. Many beloveds had to run on Don lands to make marriage instead of orders of serfdom rules. Mixture of different cultures here made a precious result of songs, arts and, especially, the tenor of life with freedom and equality.
