Bir zamanlar Avrupa'yı birlik ve beraberliğe mecbur bırakarak Viyana'ya dayanan imparatorluğun yönetildiği şehir, birkaç asırlık geri çekilme sonucu işgale uğramıştı. Düşman, imparatorluğun başkenti İstanbul'da yaklaşık 5 yıl hüküm sürmüştü. Bu skandal ve acı olayın sonu, 4 Ekim 1923 tarihinde İtilaf askerinin Türk bayrağını selamlamasının ardından şehri terk etmesi ve 2 gün sonra Türk askerinin şehre girmesiyle birlikte sona erdi. İstanbul artık fiili olarak tekrar Türk hakimiyeti altına girdi. Anadolu'dan yayılan kıvılcım, Milli Mücadele ile düşmanın yurttan atılmasıyla sonuçlanmıştır. 7. Fotoğraf: İngiliz bahriyelilerinin Galata Kulesi girişinde hatıra fotoğrafı. Bahriyelilerin sol tarafında ise kule ve civarının güvenliğini sağlayan piyadeler bulunuyor.
8. Fotoğraf: Galata Kulesi'nin tepesinde İngiliz bayrağı dalgalanıyor.
9. Fotoğraf: Yunan zırhlısı Kilkis ve yanında muhrip Psara.
