long ago lived a king. he needed to pass his thrown down to one of his sons. in the end the eldest (rama) took the throne, and this fitted perfectly, he was a kind man with a loving wife (sita). and now at last, the king could hand over his throne to rama and sita. unfortunately the mother of the youngest son was extremely jealous and wanted the throne for her son. but she had a plan. once she had been faithful to the king and in return he granted her to wishes. now she saw the chance to claim what he had promised her. she told the king she wanted rama banished for fourteen years and for her son to take his 'rightful' place on the throne. the king could not hide. he was a man who stayed true to his word. so, he reluctantly banished rama, his wife sita and one of his brothers from the kingdom. they walked and walked through a deep forest until they came across a small cottage for them to take refuge in were they could live a simple, peaceful life.but one day all this changed, a demon named ramana came,he had twenty arms and ten heads each containing a pair of red eyes that were filled with guilt and pure evil. he spotted sita and was enchanted by her beauty and believed that she should belong to him. using his magic, he made himself a wounded deer as a trap. Rama saw the deer and tried to help it. but not wanting to leave sita alone, he drew a magic circle around her to keep her safe.
