Hey everyone, my name is Seth Calkins, however im also known as Sethly to over 32,000 people. But Ill explain that later.

As a child growing up in a new technological era, I was lucky enough to have a Father that introduced me to new technological innovations at a very young age, unlike many other parents who don't keep up to date on all the latest and greatest electronic creations. One of the most prominent memories of my early childhood was when my father introduced my brother and me to this new gaming platform called the PlayStation 2. I can vividly remember the hours and hours my brother, father, and I spent having a blast while playing Ratchet and Clank, my first video game ever.

While none of us knew at the time, video games would prove to be a major influential factor of our lives. As I grew up, my brother began to make videos on this social media platform called Youtube, as a way to share his interests and have fun. Little did he know, 8 years later, Youtube would become his job and main source of income.

When I saw my brother making videos and playing video games with friends, I looked up to him as a role model and basically copied everything he did, or at least tried to. I watched my brother meet new people through video games and form unlikely friendships that have lasted to this day. My brother began to find a tightly knit group of friends online, consisting of people from all across the country. But why would these people, who ever never met in real life or even seen each other, become friends? Well, they all had two things in common, making youtube videos and playing video games. 8 years later, a lot has come and gone but one thing has never disappeared, the unbreakable bonds and lifelong friendships that were formed from video games. These friendships were so strong that, over time, everyone traveled all across the country to meet up with each other and hang out. After 8 years of knowing these people, we have met and hung out too many times to count.

As I matured and grew from a child into a.. taller child. I watched my brother and his friends, who's "Names" were Dr Pineaaplez, GreenGoblinHD, iTanKid, Swagg, RaidAway, and LegendOfCotton, grow into professional youtubers, with a combined total of over 4 million 800 thousand subscribers and 600 million views. I saw them turn there passion for video games and creating content into jobs with impressively large salaries. While many people may look at youtubers and say that making videos and playing video games aren't "Real Jobs", they most definitely are real professions that are surprisingly much more difficult than many people think.

As I sat on the sidelines, my friends and my brother created successful careers that they enjoyed. I realized that I never wanted to work a 9 to 5 job and sit in a cubicle for the rest of my life. However, at this point in time, I didn't really know anything or have enough knowledge on any specific topic that could be used for a profession. Besides youtube, having grown up around my brother and having spent hundreds of hours of my life on youtube, I knew the inner workings of youtube and everything needed to become a youtuber, like the back of my hand. Around that time, a quote came to mind, one that I will never forget. "Do something you love, and you'll never work a day in your life" I realized that I loved youtube and creating entertaining content. I began making youtube videos and since then I have made over 700 videos and not one moment of the thousands of hours of work I have put into making videos has felt like a burden or something I dread to do but instead it has felt like a hobby that I love. That also brings in an income equivalent to a job that requires a college degree. At this point in time I have over 32,000 subscribers and 15 million views on my channel but this is just the start because I have the desire to continue doing what I love. This concept is what I will use to guide my life for the many years to come.
