ვეფხისტყაოსნის პროლოგში შაირობის თემას უშუალოდ, ლოგიკურად, აზრობრივად ებმის მიჯნურობის თემა. რუსთაველის თქმით, კარგი მელექსე თავის შემოქმედებას ფუჭად კი არ უნდა ფანტავდეს, არამედ ამ ხელოვნებას მიჯნურის საქებად, სიყვარულის სადიდებლად უნდა იყენებდეს[35]. პოეტი ერთმანეთისაგან მკაცრად ასხვავებს ნამდვილ მიჯნურობასა და ხორციელ წადილს, სიძვას[36]: „ მიჯნურობა არის ტურფა, საცოდნელად ძნელი გვარი; მიჯნურობა სხვა რამეა, არ სიძვისა დასადარი; იგი სხვაა, სიძვა სხვაა, შუა უზის დიდი ზღვარი, ნურვინ გარევთ ერთმანეთსა! გესმის ჩემი ნაუბარი? “ მოშაირეების მსგავსად შოთა სიყვარულსაც სამ კატეგორიად ყოფს. „პირველი მიჯნურობა“ პროლოგის მიხედით „საზეო საქმეა“, ღვთაებრივი მოვლენაა. მეორეა ამქვეყნიური, მიწიერი, ხორციელი სიყვარული, ადამიანური გრძნობა (რომელსაც შოთა სიძვისაგან მკაცრად მიჯნავს). მიჯნურობის მესამე სახეს, ხორციელ წადილს, სქესობრივი ჟინით გატაცებას პოეტი სიყვარულის ცნებიდან საერთოდ გამორიცხავს და დაუფარავად აკრიტიკებს[37]: „ მძულს უგულო სიყვარული, ხვევნა, კოცნა, მტლაშა-მტლუში. “ რუსთაველი უარყოფს მიჯნურობის ორივე უკიდურეს ფორმას — საზეო-საიმქვეყნო სიყვარულსა და ხორციელ გატაცებას (სიძვას) და პროლოგში ხსნის, რომ მისი პოემა ამქვეყნიურ, ადამიანურ გრძნობაზე, ნამდვილ სიყვარულზეა დაწერილი. კარგი მიჯნურისაგან პოეტი მოითხოვს ერთგულებას, სიტურფეს, სიუხვეს, კარგ ენასა და გონებას, სიძლიერეს და სიმდიდრესაც
