Stabsfeldwebel Friedhelm Winter için, kendisi, önceden ağır yaralanan bir askerdi ve bu durumda Berlin'e dönmek zorunda kaldı, elinde kağıtlarla beraber. İyileştiğinde taburcu edildi ve tekrardan cepheye gönderildi. Buraya geldiğinde, bazı raporlar ve tezler elime ulaştı. Raporlarda kendisinin önceden Stabsfeldwebel olarak devam ettiği geçiyordu ve bu askerin tekrardan rütbesi geri verildi. Tabii, bu asker için öncelik olarak Mareşal'e bir telgraf çekildi. Telgraf doğrultusunda da bu emirler uygulandı. Yine de, bazı durumlardan ötürü, rütbesi hakkında toplantıda görüşülmesi gerektiği de söylendi.
Bir astsubayın şikayeti üzerine, konu toplantıya taşınacaktı fakat astsubay toplantıya taşınacaktı ancak astsubay şikayetini geri çekti. Buna rağmen bu durum, toplantının konusu olarak kalacak.
Stabsfeldwebel Poul Von. Kendisi askeri tanımadığı ya da kuralları bilmediği gerekçesiyle Friedhelm'in rütbe artışına karşı çıktı. Sonradan birlikte konuştukları ve aralarında bu durumu hallettikleri söylendi, bunun bilgisi geldi bana. O konu halledildi gibi fakat yine de toplantıda konuşulacak.
