We understand your concern that you are facing battery issue with your 'Redmi Note 7 (Onyx Black, 32 GB)'.
We're sorry for the trouble you had to go through.
Since the product was delivered to you on April 04, 2019, it has crossed the seller's 10 days replacement policy period. Due to this, the seller will not be able to fulfil your replacement request.
However, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try on your product to fix the issue you're facing:
* Basic Checks:-
The battery drains faster / device heat up when you use the device for:
Intensive use of basic functions like calls, browsing etc.
Navigation or GPS for long periods of time.
Intensive camera use.
Watching a lot of videos.
Playing graphics-intensive games.
Using apps for long periods of time, like Facebook and WhatsApp (The screen is on all the while).
Use only Brand approved chargers, batteries, and cables.
If the device heats up while charging, Check if the USB cable is damaged.
* Restart the device:-
Smartphones are just like computers. They have Processes and Services running in the background and need a restart regularly (At least once a week). If these processes and services are running for long time without a restart, they may cause issues.
Restarting your device gives it a fresh start and is sometimes all you need to fix your issue.
Press and hold the Power button on your smartphone to Restart the device (If reboot isnt available, turn Off and then turn On your smartphone).
If you want to know how long the device has been running, follow the steps below:
Open Settings
Scroll down and tap About Phone (If you don't see this option, tap System and then proceed)
Tap Status
Scroll down and check Up time (The time listed here is in hours. Anything above 168 hours needs to be restarted.)
* Check battery temperature:-
Open the phone dialer
Dial *#*#4636#*#* to open the testing interface
Tap Battery info
You can now see the Battery info, like Health and Temperature.
The battery voltage mentioned in the image is just for reference. This varies from device to device.
Battery Temperature: Anything below 50° C is considered normal. If it's above 50° C, choose the appropriate option below.
Note: If you do not find Battery info after dialing this number select NO as your option to troubleshoot further.
* Check app battery usage:-
Open Settings
Scroll down and tap Battery
Tap Battery Usage
Tap Battery Use
In this list, check if any third-party apps are taking more battery than normal
You can also tap Hardware and look at the hardware list to see if any of the components are taking more battery than normal
Tap the Battery History icon on the top right corner of the screen
Check the Mobile network signal strength. Green is strong; Yellow is weak; Red is no signal
Note:
1. The battery history resets every time the battery is charged to 100%.
2. If you do not find Battery option in settings choose Battery and performance.
3. If you do not find the Battery Use option you may select Power Usage option.
* Enable battery save mode:-
Open Settings
Scroll down and tap Battery
Tap Battery usage
Tap Battery Saver
Toggle the switch to enable Battery Saver
Note:
1. If you do not find Battery option in settings choose Battery and performance.
2. If you do not find the Battery Use option you may select Power Usage option.
* Check for an OTA update:-
Things to remember before the update:
Make sure your phone is connected to WiFi. (If Wi-Fi is the issue, you may have to use the mobile data)
Make sure the battery is charged above 50% or is connected to the charger during the update
Backup any important data, if required.
Open Settings
Tap About phone
Tap System update
Tap Check for updates
If available, tap update to start downloading.
Once the download is complete, tap Reboot now
If there's no update available, proceed with the next step
* Perform a factory reset:-
Please do note about data loss.
If required, have backup of your data.
Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged.
If applicable, remove the SD Card from the device to prevent accidental formatting while resetting.
Open Settings
Scroll down & tap Additional settings
Scroll down & tap Backup & reset
Tap Factory data reset
Tap Reset phone
Wait for the countdown and then tap Next
Wait for the countdown again and then tap OK
Note: During setup after the reset, please make sure the you doesn't restore the settings. Set it up as a new device. (Some Settings or Apps might be the root cause of the actual issue).
Also, We request you to not install apps from unknown sources like third-party websites or through SHAREit. Apps must be downloaded only from the Google Play Store.
In case the troubleshooting steps do not work, you can get in touch with the brand's authorised service centre as the product is covered under manufacturer's warranty and they'll be able to help you out.
The invoice for this product can be used to avail services at the brand's authorised service centres within the warranty period.
