Apex Legends Flyers (Everything We Know)

Flyers are large reptilian creatures (around the same size as a Titan) that possess six limbs. Four of these limbs are wings that allow the creature to fly through the air at great heights and speeds. The creatures also possess large tusks on their head just below the mouth. They can be often seen trailing and soaring around the creatures known as Leviathans, latching onto them and acting as parasites.

The Flyers are vicious enough that they have no qualms about engaging fully armed squads of infantry and carrying away entire humans, ripping apart advanced IMC aircraft[4], ripping through armoured vehicle

On Typhon (and presumably Leviathan), Flyers are also known to prey on Prowlers, though are not seen engaging active forces. They can be seen engaging in ARES Division labratories, though cannot be seen in the wilds until after the base's destruction.

Flyers can be seen on the maps Boneyard, Airbase, and the DLC map Swampland. On Boneyard they can be seen being perched at various locations and will sometimes plunge to the ground and consume Grunts and Spectres, and 3 may grab a dropship and tear it apart. Dead Flyers can also be found on Boneyard. On Airbase, they appear in the background, however they come into the map during the epilogue if the Militia wins. On Swampland they can be seen in the open part of the map, but they are often scared away by the Tower nearby.

In Titanfall 2, Flyers can be seen largely as background scenery in the mission Effect and Cause. They do not attack the player, but can be killed.

Official Respawn Mentions- At end of EA play livestream they showed a teaser of leviathans and flyers but didnt mention anything about them
The flyers were also shown in the season 1 trailer and they were shown in swarms of multiple flyers

A respawn dev has replied to a few posts on reddit about the flyers, although he didn't mention much but is clearly trying to leave all the info on flyers to be a surprise

In game info-
-They spawn randomly around the map at the beginning of the game and they can spawn in any place on the map at random, even around repulsor which is supposed to keep them away so it seems that the repulsor tower isn't working
-Not sure how many per game but I have seen two right next to each other and people have told me they have seen up to 3 in the general vicinity so the amount of flyers is likely randomized as well as the location they spawn in so there is potential for many to randomly spawn in the same area of the map.
-Currently they all carry death boxes that they spawn with and have blue and purple loot in them and sometimes they have gold loot but I haven't been lucky enough to see a gold one yet. Also, a lot of people were asking me in the comments, if they pick up deathboxes from someone who died in game and sadly they don't it is all predetermined and they spawn with the death boxes at the beginning of the match.
-The loot is pretty random but there were leaked loot tables found in the files, Ill show them on screen and as you can see there is a random chance for them to have blue, purple, or even sometimes gold deathboxes that have randomized loot in them, from the lists on screen that were found in the files you can see all the different types of items that could be in the boxes, You can also get lower tier items in higher tier boxes, for example you can find common items in all the deathboxes and you can even find blue items in a purple box. You can also get different types of ammo and weapons in the deathboxes
-They fly around in a fairly circular motion but they can move when shot at or if you get close enough to them then they will fly away from you
-Sometimes flyers make a loud screeching noise that can give away their location
-As of right now flyers don't attack you but their is a possibility of that in the future
-If you shoot the flyers and hit them then they start to fly updwards to get away, even if you only hit them once, but if you shoot them again or do enough damage or kill them then they will drop the deathbox
-When the deathbox drops it will have a nametag and banner of someone on your friends list but if you don't have any friends then it will show the gamertag of a random developer or another person that works with respawn on apex.
-You can grabble flyers but you can't land on them or jump on top of them even if you use a jump tower to redeploy onto them, you will just bounce off and they will get scared and fly away.
-You can also ping them so your teamates know and can shoot them with you
-The flyers have around 250 health but I can't really tell the exact health they have cause usually my teamates shoot at them as well but it is definitely around 250.
-When the deathbox drops there is a bright flash animation that is released off the deathbox so you can stop shooting them when you see that so you don't actually have to kill them to get the loot
-After you first hit the flyer with one bullet, if you stop and wait a few seconds for it to fly away a little bit and then you shoot them once again then they will immediatly drop the loot so you don't have to waste your ammo on them and give away your location to enemies, you can just use two bullets but you have to wait a few seconds in between the first and second hit because they won't immediatly drop the box if you spam them.
-If you scare a flyer and it starts flying away, if you let it keep flying and don't kill them or shoot them enough to drop the deathbox then they will just fly away into the sky and disappear. As far as I can tell, they don't come back down later in the game after they fly away into the sky. So if they fly into the sky and disappear before you make them drop the loot then the loot is gone.
