Apex Legends Pathfinder Hitbox Update Confirmed (How will they fix it?)
Hey guys Sethly here back with another apex legends video. In this video we are going to be covering Pathfinder's Hitbox and the confirmation of the updates that will be made to it in Season 2. So as you guys know, Pathfinder's hitbox has been pretty messed up for practically the entire time apex has been out. At first, his hitbox was the opposite of what it is now. It was absolutely massive and WAY to big. Ill show on screen right now what it used to be before they changed it and clearly its really bad. It was almost like he didnt have legs and it was just one big stump, you could should in between his legs and easily hit him even though it shouldn't be a hit, not to mention the fact that you could shoot above his head and it would register as a headshot. Thankfully they quickly made an update to his hitbox and a few other legends that helped out a lot, however, while it did solve a massive problem with the hit registration on pathfinder, it also made a new problem. The good news it that they have confirmed, in a recent known issues thread, that they are listening to the community and player feedback and they have decided to make some adjustments to his hitbox with the release of season 2. But what is actually wrong with his hitbox right now? And how could they fix it? Back to pathfinder, so I went in to training mode and tested out his hitbox on the NPC Pathfinder as I have done many times before and I found a few problems. First off, the main thing is that you can't hit anything on his back or arms, which are his grapple kit. But thats pretty much what it has always been so im not sure if thats a real problem. However there a some blatant errors in his hitbox. First off, theres a few sections on his legs that you can't hit at all even though it technically should be a hit. Right where his thigh should be is pretty much nothing and you can't hit there, also you can't hit his back heals but thats not a huge problem. You also can't hit the tips of his toes and I found out you can't hit his fingers. It seems he has some sort of metal plate as a palm and then his fingers come out from that and you can hit the metal plate but you can't hit any of his fingers. So clearly there are a few major errors but other than that, its just the fact that you can't hit his grapple pack on his arms and back area. My guess is thats probably one of the main reasons it feels so hard to hit him. Not to mention the fact that his legendary skins have very different models and much thicker legs compared to the size of what his actual hit box is but its like that with a lot of characters just very noticeable with pathfinder cause his normal skin has such skinny legs. So if you combine all the small hitbox errors he has, the grapple pack, legendary skin difference, with the fact that apex's netcode is pretty bad then you can a very noticeable problem with his hitbox. However they did make a patch yesterday that improved the netcode a lot, ive noticed that, with this patch, it is a lot easier to hit pathfinder but that patch isnt live on console and even with it, its still pretty hard to hit him compared to other legends. So how are they going to fix this without changing his model? My guess is that they will fix many of the small errors that I found as well as possibly make it so you can hit the part of his grapple pack that is attached to his arms but not the part that is on his back. With the netcode inpromvements and changes that they are going to make, he will be much more balanced. But all that we know for a fact is that they said they have been investigating Pathfinder’s hitbox and looking at player feedback and At the Season 2 launch they'll be making adjustments to the hitbox that they will talk more about closer to Season 2. So there are still a number of different ways that they could change his hitbox but all I think that we NEED is them to fix the small errors that ive found and fix the netcode but let me know down in the comment section below what you guys think about his hitbox.
