I was in the office today with Wendy and Ann and we had a couple of discussions on the following:

1) Aladdin Connect.
This is an upgrade which offers a lot of extra functions. Ie parent teacher meeting, text, school reports and lots more. It cost €113 a month or €1360 for 14 months if purchased before Friday 5th July. (2 free months)
Wendy seemed very excited about the prospect of this software update, due to its functionality and asked if there would be enough money in the budget?
You might talk to her tomorrow about it. Should you decide that this software would be good for the school. There is enough money in Capitation Grant and I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t buy it, but it’s your call. Would this be a discussion for the board or would this come up “School Admin?” I think school admin, although I’m sure BOM members will be happy.

Ideally it would be great if this was purchase before 31st August so it’s part of this year’s financial year, as we have some unspent funds.

2) Hall Rental
Have you applied for grant? We have just used the last of our Hall Rent Grant. Over the last few days. We will have bills for this over the holidays. I’m sure you have applied and money will come in over the holidays.

3) Herby
Wendy happened to mention that Herby is working all over the holidays except two weeks. Is this correct? I was under the impression August was on hold for the moment, with the building. Just wanted to confirm before I authorise his advance payments.

We actioned holidays pay for Wendy, Ann and Herby, as it stands we have over spent by about €445. (Excluding Herby’s summer hours) Don’t be too alarmed as there is money in the pot from savings on previous years. The tax bill is the killer with Herby’s extra hours.

4) Green Chairs
I asked Wendy if an order/invoice had come in for the green chairs. A request from Helen at the last BOM meeting. Can I please ask that these are ordered urgently, (I will drop Helen a line also on this also) Ideally we would like invoice to be paid before 31st August, so it’s part of this year’s financial year as we still have a large sum of unspent money in Minor works.

Wendy didn’t get a chance to do the online banking today but I have signed the cheque’s so she can post them tomorrow.
