Nova Margolis
Orphan
Adopted into a working class Scottish family (We'll come up with a town and location later)
She has two parents until the mother passes away leaving only the father.
He works triple shift and cannot sustain the family, leaving the father to resort to drastic measures (i.e. selling hair and doing things that aren't really nice). He was in uncountable debts with the bank and was fired from his job. This downfall was a result of his wife's death
Now Nova is around 17 and was with a gang (You choose the gang. Whichever one you like) before she entered the orphanage, following the most of the gang's incarceration after a convenience store stick up. They had a 4 year sentence and Nova had joined the new parents, a few months after the gang's reunion.
She takes the train and seeks them out, hoping that with enough money, her father will not suffer anymore.
After taking a train, and days of seeking them out in (Whatever location we choose) she tracks down a former gang member, (Choose it later you get the point), he warns Nova that the gang is the not the same and that it has turned corrupt and is riddled with snakes.
He provides a backstory to this, and how there were 'rats' in the gang, and after a few months of the gang's reunion, 1/2 members started to leave and the gang wasn't safe anymore. Nova wanted to heed his advice but she had no choice and needed the money.
She decided to find them anyway, using various cyber trails and tip offs to locate them at a location called 'The Wolves Den'
She makes her way there and she rushed by gang members in an attempt to mug her until they take a moment to recognise her. "Nova?" They say.
The next 1/2 chapters explain the gang members accommodating Nova and putting her on a pedestal, as we learn each name of the gang members, and she felt bonded with them. Her best friend (insert name), told her that gang is not the same anymore, but Nova told her of the plan she had and that she had no care for the gang. She needed to tell the gang to help her get that money. Whatever the cost.
The day came and Nova presented the idea to the gang. They were reluctant at first and even offended, but then came to an agreement. If Nova agreed to kill two of the gang's 'rats' (I.E. people who betrayed the gang and ran off, giving away information), then they would commit a risky heist that would ascertain her the money.
The next series of chapters explain how she carries out both murders, and how the people murdered were simply wanting freedom and no association with the gang and to live as normal civilians. This changed her outlook on the gang and she realised that the gang was more toxic than these people ever were.
The final few chapters were when she returned and they committed the heist. A few members were arrested and a few were killed but they eventually made it back.
They made it back to with the money and she showed confirmation of the murders. The gang were about to give Nova her cut until they rush her and hold her at gunpoint.
"Don't care about the gang? After everything we just went through?"
Nova looked at her best friend (insert name). She ratted her out, out of jealousy. Since Nova was on a pedestal. Nova simply replied "Yea I don't. You might want to make sure the doors are locked here."
Nova had told the former gang member in the city to rat out the information on 'The Wolves Den' prior to the heist.
Sirens are subsequently heard and the gang members shift attention to committing their last stand. Shooting until they die out. Nova, while they're distracted, grabbed the money and ran off through the back door while the gang died trying to defend themselves.
The best friend ran out too, begging Nova for forgiveness, but Nova shot her best friend with her free arm, dropped the gun she was holding with latex gloves and ran out with her gym bag full of money, through the alley and into a taxi, away from the shootout.
Nova entered her home but was horrified to find her father hanging from the ceiling with a chair on the floor. She found a note which said, "Nova, if you find this, I was wrong, and you didn't run away from me. And now I have no one. And life is too much bear without someone to talk to. I have been thinking it about it for a long time and there's no reason for it anymore. But that's only if i was right. Its been 3 months. There's no point of living."
Nova broke down on her sofa, and realised it was her birthday the next day.
On her 18th birthday, she heads to the airport, to another country until the heat died down
