My book is called Blackbird Fly, it is about this girl from the Philippines. Her name is Annalyn but, her nickname is Apple. The story takes place in Chapel Springs, Louisiana. Her dad died when she was little before her mom her moved to America. Her dad loved the Beatles and music so she did too. She has two friends, their names are Alyssa and Gretchen. One day Apple goes to Alyssa's house for a ''party''. Alyssa invited Gretchen, Annalyn, and three boys named Jake, Lance, and Braden. After the three boys show up, they start to make fun of Apple because she looks Asian and that she doesn't look pretty to them. the next day she goes to school and she wants to be popular like her friends, but because of the boys the day before they, they started rumours about her. So she finds out that she wants a guitar to play all of the music that she heard from her dad's tapes that she took. Her mom never allowed her to play music, so she had to find a way to get a guitar without her noticing. She made a new friend after she lost Gretchen and Alyssa. His name was Even. Then she made another friend named Heleena. They helped her get a guitar. When her mom found out about it she understood what she was going through. After that, her mom let her get the guitar and taught her how to play anything she wanted.
