Lvl 1: What did Dee change her name to?
A: Wangero Leewanika Kemanjo.
Lvl 2: Why did Dee want the quilts?
A: Dee wanted the quilts to use them as decorations representing her heritage. She would rather hang them while she disapproved of Maggie having the quilts since she would use them, something Dee didn't approve of.
Lvl 2: Why did Dee change her name?
A: Dee didn't want to have a name given by people who oppressed her. She changed her name to something that she felt represented her heritage better. This is despite the fact that she had been named after her aunt, as she disregarded that.
Lvl 2: Why did Dee use to force knowledge upon Maggie and the speaker that they didn't understand nor require to know?
A: Dee wanted to show off her knowledge that the speaker and Maggie didn't have, holding it over their heads. She was the only one out of the three of them that received an education and knew much about the world. She had her own ideals that were different which she believed were better than others. She preferred her idea of hanging up the quilts in contrast to Maggie whom she believed would use the quilts and reduce them to rags.
