Mara had passed Reid in the hallway eager to get back to English class before the bell rang, yet she decided to talk to Ellie in the girl's bathroom about drama. Ellie and Mara have been best friends since pre-k, but soon that would change. as the iconic duo was talking mara got to thinking about the suspicious things that have been going on with Ellie and Reid; as she had already known her best friend was dating her crush, Mara seemed to really care but kept her feelings vague to Ellie. Ellie has known about the crush since what felt like the dawn of time, but Ellie being the popular girl and Mara being in her shadows she started to really doubt the relationship between the two besties.

The bell had rung. Mara began to pack up all her makeup from the bathroom and dashed... All the way into Reid; of course she felt bad she didn't know what to do, so being her she ran once again. she didn't bother to pick her bookbag up, in a way she left Reid to deal with it. in the whole ordeal, she ended up being late for the whole class... except 5 minutes. she rushed in whilst the teacher was talking about homework, as it was the only 2nd day of 7th grade she still got detention on Saturday. The teacher lectured her about being late to almost all of her classes which were in fact considered skipping but Mara shrugged it off; of course, she would she's naive and stubborn from time to time.

As Mara was walking home she ended up seeing Reid as he held her book bag in one hand, he glanced at her from across the street. He waved. Mara freaked out on the inside and motioned him to her, he walked on the crosswalk to her as the only crush he had was standing in front of him... mara, he likes mara. He said, "Hey," she said, "Hello, how was your day?" He said, "Better now" with a smile he changed her whole aspect as you may call it a "Reality Check" for mara her brain flooded with signals that she is now realizing, that's where her naive side went... nowhere; her naive side stayed getting comfy and moved in.
