the definition of wrong can change quickly.
the fourth amendment outlaws the search of a person or group of people w/ out consent.
the nsa will track people within three degrees of seperation. this means that if a person has 50 friends. three steps could reveal 1.3 million people.
the secret foreign intelligence and surveillance court approved all 1789 cases brought forth from the nsa in 2012. The checks and balances in the government as far as surveillance is concerned is not fair.
The US survived both world wars and the cold war with out a mass disruption of civil rights.
The government tries to use 9/11 as justification for all internal spying thereafter.
Since 9/11 there have been more than 364,000 deaths caused by the use of privately owned firearms that were not previously identified by internal spying.

just because it is legal, doesnt mean that is is ethical.

government has good intentions
even if prevention fails, the information can help convict the criminal.
A civil liberties officer has been installed in the nsa who, order to show that he is performing, would have to disrupt the surveillance required to stop terrorism.
Only metadata is being collected by the Nsa. Any further required information would require a warrant from the fisa court.
The Nsa works with USCYBERCOM to improve national defense.
You cannot worry about privacy if your dead.
