Fat32 -

1. The FAT structure is simpler.
2. The FAT folder size is smaller for an equal number of files, limitation of the Fat32 file system is that it has a file size limit of 4GB
3. FAT32 does not support file compression
4. FAT32 has serious problems with file names using non-English letters - to the point where you could find a file unable to be opened at all
5. FAT32 tends to become very slow with lots of use.
6. Fat32 have less safety of data

NTFS -

1. Ntfs structure is not as simple as fat 32.
2. The folder size of ntfs is larger in size. Ntfs can have files up to 16 TB.
3. Files can be compressed in NTFS
4. NTFS can use any UTF characters, so can easily be named even using something like Japanese etc
5. NTFS is faster in processing
6. Data is more safe in NTFS



GPT-

1. GPT supports up to 128 partitions.
2. the partition size is stored in length of 8 bytes (64 bit).
3. GPT stores multiple copies of the boot and partition data across the disk.
4. GPT can notice the problem and attempt to recover the damaged data.
5. GPT, you can create theoretically unlimited partitions on the hard disk.
6. Intel Macs are using GPT by default and you won’t be able to install Mac OS


MBR-

1. MBR contains a 64 bytes’ partition.
2. The partition size is stored in length of 4 bytes (32 bit).
3. MBR stores the boot and partition data in one place.
4. MBR had no way of knowing if its data was corrupted.
5. MBR disk, you can only have four primary partitions.
6. Mac OS X will run on MBR disk though; it is just that you won’t be able to install on it.

Basic –

1. A basic disk that uses normal partition tables.
2. a basic disk of a specific set size cannot be changed.
3. A basic disk can only create two styles of partitions, MBR and GPT partition.
4. Basic disks support multi-boot configurations.
5. A basic disk can be easily converted to a dynamic disk without losing any data.
6. The partition cannot exceed the disk size.



Dynamic –

1. A dynamic disk, does not contain partition tables.
2. Dynamic disks, are not limited to primary and extended partitions.
3. A dynamic disk, on the other hand, contains simple volumes, spanned volumes, striped volumes, mirrored volumes.
4. Dynamic disks don’t use boot configuration.
5. dynamic disk to a basic disk, you have to delete all volumes on the dynamic disk.
The partition can be extended even after they are already created for dynamic storage.
