At college, one guy was in the service and he came back with a practice grenade and a practice artillery shell (I am sure that's not the official name for them but I have never been in the military). https://www.reddit.com/user/meiling33/comments/capi67/ysnsdjxsmazmzxas/ They were about the same strength as the the real thing but didn't spray shrapnel. In the middle of a party the idiot, threw the grenade into a plastic bucket on the floor. The guy who was renting the house the party was taking place in grabbed the bucket and tried to rush it outside. He made it about five steps into the sun-room. When it exploded it shattered several of the windows in the room and turned the bucket into shrapnel. He had to get the pieces removed at the hospital but he was fine otherwise. https://workingfordream772026288.wordpress.com/2019/07/08/ysnsdjxsmazmzxas/ I wasn't around for when they detonated the mortar, but they said they did that in the middle of the night in a field. Afterwards a fire truck drove by looking for the source in case it started a fire, but kept driving when they didn't see anything. The same guy threw a propane tank into a bonfire at another party and set the trees on fire when it went off. The guy wasn't all there and I quickly stopped going to parties he was at.A motorcycle cop sits in my neighborhood at the same spot a few times a week. https://workingfordream.joomla.com/index.php/2-uncategorised/12-ysnsdjxsmazmzxas I enjoy watching as people speed by, only to slam on their brakes when they notice him less than two car-lengths away.
It's like shooting fish in a barrel for the officer.I'm not in CA, but I've spent plenty of time working there. It's definitely because of fires, and it's taken very seriously. https://www.nobedad.com/article/6d5ba4e0/c=e075b9d120&nc=1 It's also because cigarette butts are a nuisance, so that's why it's covered under littering, but with enhanced penalties because of the fire aspect.
I'm in NM, and it's still just littering here, unless it actually starts a fire, in which case you'd be liable for the cost of the fire (aka fucked). It really should be more for throwing a burning substance, especially considering our climate, but alas it's just basic littering, which is a petty misdemeanor. https://workingfordream.tumblr.com/post/186146203669/ysnsdjxsmazmzxas Little related and a little unrelated but here in eastern Ohio, about 2 days ago, two drivers were road raging at each other. One guy driving with his 18 month old child in the back seat starts brake checking and now they’re both swerving at each other and finally the other motorist pulls up next to him and throws a bundle of lit fireworks into the guys truck. Misses him, of course, and lands in the back seat severely burning the child’s face. They’re both currently charged with reckless endangerment and a number of other charges. I fucking hate stupid people.
