I think that irresponsibly spending money that you cannot afford for an animal is foolish because there is no point in saving an animal for $15,000 but in this case, $1,000 could possibly be reasonable. My article that is supposed to be relating to “The Last Meow,” is called, “Brace yourself: Engineer giving animals a leg up toward mobility.” Which is about how medical procedures are being advanced and a pony without a leg now has a prosthetic front leg. And they really got the horse to walk again which was definitely the best part of the article and one of the most interesting parts. The point that the author of the article is trying to make is that he wants to help animals. The author also has helped more animals than just ponies like dogs with 3 legs.

The Main Setting of this article in Sterling, Virginia; where the whole workshop for animals is located. The author is actually very passionate about his work and helping animals who don’t have legs. The literal author is PBS but the one who works on the animals and helps them is Derrick Campana. I can infer that Derrick loves what he does just for the results and loves the reactions of the animals. This is because he says “Seeing those dogs walk again, and their tails wag and their eyes glitter again, and it’s just the best feeling in the world, and it’s a job I’ll do until I die.” He really does love his job and wants everything to do with it like he said it’s a job he’ll do until he dies.

This article can really relate in a better way to the medical field of animals and is actually a possible investment in a pet/animal. The prosthetic legs go for $500-$1,200 which is a reasonable price for your animal to be happy. Instead of a pointless $15,000 down the drain for an animal that’s gonna suffer for the rest of its life. Like there is some reasonability on how far you’ll go for an animal and in “The Last Meow,” Shawn Levering made a terrible decision especially because he’s in debt and his salary is literally half of the surgery. I personally would never do that because it’s just a waste and especially if I loved the animal I wouldn’t let it sit in misery for another year or however long it has left that’s just terrible.
