Waarom heb je dit toch gedaan?
Ik ben kwaad, kwaad op jou omdat je niet meer over je situatie hebt gesproken, kwaad op zij die wel over de situatie wisten omdat ze mij niets zeiden en kwaad op mezelf omdat ik nooit genoeg durfde vragen over je situatie zodat de schaamte die je had, doorbroken kon worden. Hoewel velen zeggen dat dat onmogelijk geweest zou zijn omdat je te fier was op je kinderen, denk ik dat dat met onze steun zeker mogelijk was geweest en dit allemaal voorkomen kon worden.
Maar ook sorry papa, sorry dat ik er niet genoeg voor je was, sorry dat ik je niet meer betrok in mijn leven, sorry dat ik met onnozele dingen bezig was en geen tijd had voor jou wanneer jij mij nodig had. En ook merci papa, merci dat jij er altijd voor mij stond (soms zelfs zwaar tegen uw goesting weet ik), merci voor de zalige vakanties die ik met jou heb meegemaakt en merci voor alle zalige momenten die ik me met jou nog kan herinneren en die ik voor eeuwig zal koesteren.
Onze tijd samen was te kort, veel te kort. En hoewel ik nu verder moet zonder jou, moet je weten dat er altijd een plaatsje zal zijn voor jou in mijn hart. En als deze sneller zal beginnen slaan wanneer ik mijn volgende birdie speel, weet ik dat jij het bent.
